AVA
Records was started up by Anatoly Vapirov in 1997 to become more independed
in his quest to take Jazz (and music in general) up to a higher level,
free of any targets or concepts other labels set upon the musicians they
contacted. This provided the posibility for Anatoly to work and record
music with a veriaty of musicians replacing quantity (mass production)
for quality. The main concept behind all of this is the combination of
"modern thinking" (which combines all achievements in music)
"Ethnic music links" (with the jazz idioms of Black Sea countries)
and "compulsory attention" with an original approach to and
felling for jazz, brought together by a common longing for spiritual sublimity
and inquisitiveness for the inexplicable beauty existing beyond the set
limits. Within this framework, the ultimed freedom for all sorts of new
ideas, Anatoly atempts, through his label and with the people he works
with, to create a solid basis of innovative and modern (not postmodern)
thinking, storing this on disk (CD) to distribute the concept, encurraging
others to explore and enjoy this concept and preserving their achievements
for future times.
Many
of the AVA recordings available on CD were recorded at the Varna Summer
International Jazz Festival or resulted out of the colaboration of musicians
performing there. This "Cross-point" between styles, cultures,
languages and more were the public became exposed to the "concept"
contributed to the startup of AVA Records. For more information about
